Tankovar is a unique blend of Barbarian and Paladin, inheriting defensive strengths from both. They boast a more consistent block chance than Paladins (passive vs. active shield) but with a lower maximum block amount. Similarly, Tankovar has a higher base damage reduction than Barbarians (active and passive abilities, with talent buffs). However, Barbarians benefit from higher dual-wielding defense. Passive talents provide Tankovar with additional defense, enhancing their overall durability.
