The Frost Mage is analogous to the Priest in its DPS role, featuring a delayed burst damage style that makes it a potent, yet nuanced killer. One notable drawback is that your primary damage skill has a chance to miss critical hits due to balancing mechanics. This limits your potential maximum damage output. Additionally, the gameplay can feel repetitive due to heavy reliance on a single button, which might be less engaging compared to other classes.
In PvP, the Frost Mage is less about immediate action and more about preparation. You'll need to carefully plan your positioning and skill usage to avoid counterattacks. Similar to the Bard, you should be wary of silence effects and stuns. However, stuns are a lesser concern due to your ranged capabilities. Silence effects, often found on Bards and other Mages, are your primary vulnerability.
Overall, the Frost Mage is a strong choice. However, I recommend spending some time experimenting with the frost stance beyond a single dungeon to see if the playstyle suits you.
